Paperback Life

This photo of Mudhoney was taken on the roof of the Kentish Town Forum in July '08.
For one reason or another (long story) it never ran... Thought I may as well throw it up here.
Oh, they're playing the UK in October too, for dates check here.

Let the horns blow

Last night saw the opening of Mike Blabac's excellent photography exhibition at Maverick on Redchurch Street. Here's Mike being interviewed by newly appointed Kingpin editor Alex Irvine. The exhibition's on a for little while I think... All the info's here, go see!
Sam Hart was documenting proceedings.

Miles Away

Karen O/YYYs, Sheffield, 2003.

I was interested to read that Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) has been working on the score for the upcoming Where The Wild Things are movie. For some insight about some of the creative minds behind the film check the weloveyouso.com blog, it's great stuff.

Plus 1 #13

I've been in Copenhagen for a couple of weeks, so I know I'm a little late on this one... Plus 1 issue 13 is now available for downloading.

For this issue I had the pleasure of shooting 3 great bands: Fanfarlo,
Playdoe,
and The Wave Pictures.
There's also a feature on the Roadburn festival, oh and we got Nugget to be a model, check it here.

La La Love You

The Pixies played Village Underground in Shoreditch last night, pretty surprising given the size of the space (tiny). They were actually really really good... For a few more photos check the Plus1 website.

Martin and Rinko

The other night I went to see Rinko Kawauchi in conversation with Martin Parr. As well as seeing some of her beautiful photographs, the talk was great too.
The event was put on by Still/Moving, a non-profit organisation trying to inspire UK photographers. Their next event involves JH Engstrom, can't wait.

Sheckler hits the Birdcage

Ryan Sheckler is probably the person I would expect to see down my local, but I guess the quest to find a chill girl knows no limits.

Plus1 number 12

The new issue of Plus1 has hit the streets, or if you prefer; download. Derek Albeck did the cover...
Inside you'll find Toddla T,
and Crystal Antlers. There's also a great photo piece by Hin Chua, as well as a ton of other good stuff, go check it.

Tokyo Transfer

Last night saw the premiere of the new Traffic Skateboards video 'Tokyo Transfer'. Nick Zorlac was our host for the evening, taking control of Harrow's Trinity pub. Anyway the video's amazing: The mix of crazy Japanese architecture and the quickfooted prowess of the Traffic team makes a great combination... I think it's also really limited edition, so grab one whilst you can.
After the film Steak and Psycho's new band 'White Lightning' played... TOTAL ROCK AND ROLL!

Will nature make a man of me yet?

Here's an outtake from a shoot I did with the artist Charming Baker.
His paintings are really great, check them out here, or even go and see his show in London from June 5th.
For more from this shoot, as well as an interview, look out for a future copy of Plus1 mag.
